[Request] NOTES Window/Area for packages

Hi,

How about adding a *maintainer editable area* -- where the maintainers can leave notices, warnings and, or important links; below the *Package Details* and above *Enter your comments* window.

I think, some 280-300 character long or a short-message area would enough to solve the purpose.

Hmm, not a bad idea, however, I think that it is an unnecessary duplication.  Generally for notes like this I use a .install file that lists any additional details a person may need to know to get the package running or links that they should visit.

I'm talking about *pre-installation* NOTES for users, which users may read before downloading even a tarball.

And, yes I know a good workaround, but any workaround is just a workaround. Moreover, the said workaround will also use AUR server resources

I support bdheeman's suggestion. Sometimes, as is currently the case with the Chromium binary package, a package is partially broken, certain features don't work correctly. Furthermore, correcting the problem may take time. Again, this is currently the case with the Chromium binary package. The whole package isn't broken, just certain aspects of it, and it would be good to have a means for informing users of the state of affairs before they take the time to download and install the package.
