Introducing Arkid...

Hi smile
I'm very pleased to introduce Arkid to you:

Arkid_by_rent0n86.png

The Arkid theme suite is composed by:
- gtk theme
- openbox theme
- xfce4-notifyd theme
- conkyrc
- tint2rc

Download it!

Of course it is based on the Moka, Mookid and Dyne themes, but with the official Arch Linux colors.
Indeed "Arkid" comes from Arch + Mookid and I like it because it reminds me of Arkanoid.

Please let me know what do you think of it! wink

...oh yes and she's Irina Sheik! tongue

Nice one, mate! Also really cool that you provided the "whole package" with .conkyrc etc.

Re: Introducing Arkid...

I like it a lot, I'll probably give it a shot on my openbox environment to see how usable it is with my dark wallpaper and such.  I've been looking for a long time to find something similar (or get around to making one tongue) so kudos for getting it done.

Also, thanks for including the entire setup in the download!

Re: Introducing Arkid...

Pretty good. However, I found a small bug with your theme:

Some of the text in apps like Deluge is unreadable. In this screenshot  http://omploader.org/vMzVmZw the 'seeding' can barely be seen.

This is what restrains me from adopting this as my theme.

Re: Introducing Arkid...

Thank you guys, I really appreciate your comments. smile

Regarding the bug, I've never used Deluge so I didn't noticed that. I will try to correct it but it seems not that easy. Probably it is something related to how deluge handles gtk themes.
If you've got time you can try to see if the bug is present in Moka, Mookid and Dyne themes too?

Re: Introducing Arkid...

I'm probably being a dummy here..but not very familiar with gnome-type stuff tongue. Do I just put the gtk stuff in ~/.themes? 'cause it doesn't show when I open gnome-appearance-properties

Looks really good. What icons do you use in the notification area? And can you post that blue desktop background?

Re: Introducing Arkid...

@Renan Birk: I investigated the problem a little bit and it seems indeed a deluge problem. I can't figure out where the light grey used as background in deluge comes out because it is not present in the gtkrc. So it is difficult to solve the bug because I have no idea where to look for it.
If anyone has suggestions, please tell me!

@Jebus_, @Anonymo: Yep, I don't know how I missed the girl in the pack, here it is:
http://cultureshoq.com/wp-content/galle … s_msp2.jpg
http://cultureshoq.com/wp-content/galle … _msp41.jpg
http://cultureshoq.com/wp-content/galle … _msp71.jpg

@koch, @Xenokite: Thanks!

@Stythys: Download, extract and put the folder named Arkid with all its content in ~/.themes. Put .conkyrc in ~ and tint2rc in ~/.config/tint.
You should now be able to change your gtk and openbox themes.

@SleepyFloyd: Tray Icons comes from the Drakfire Evolution icon set, look for it on gnome-look. Wallpaper is damask.blue --> http://stroink.deviantart.com/art/damask-blue-63157540

wink

Re: Introducing Arkid...

Update:
Now Gtk buttons have a selection border, that makes the theme a lot easier to use for keyboard-addicted users! tongue

Re: Introducing Arkid...

Beautiful!!

I've been looking this week for a nice dark theme for openbox+gtk to replace Dyne/area042 that uses the "arch-blue" cyan color.  What are the icons you are using?  Also, in firefox the inactive tabs look a bit too flashy for me, there is some kind of gradient there.
