My system: HP/compaq nx6125 laptop.
Operating Systems
(1) Arch Linux 64 bit edition with KDEmod
(2) Windows XP SP3 32 bit edition.
Problem area: Projection of Video
I could watch video stored in an external HDD using VLC media player both in Arch and Windows in computer itself. When I am in Windows, as soon as a projecter is connected, the laptop screen turns off and the desktop is projected in big screen. Video projection from there is just click and play. It plays good. Program used is VLC media player.
But when I am in Arch Linux, if the projecter is connected, visuals appear both in the projected surface and the laptop. It itself is not a problem. I could see the splash screen projected. As the Workspace is active, Dolhin, Firefox etc can be projected well. I could see the controls of VLC media player in big screen. But if I open a video, it is played only in the laptop screen. In the projected surface, the screen space where video is supposed to be seen is seen blank.
It may be some problem regarding permissions. But, as I am able to see the video in computer, I am quite confused. What can I do to correct this behaviour?
