Logitech Communicate MP & kernel26-ice X86_64 - A Battle of ages

Hey everyone,

So as the title suggests, I have a Logitech Communicate MP that I am trying to get working under the realtime enabled kernel26-ice kernel, 64 bit environment.  I headed over to webcam setup wiki, looking for my camera.  Now this is where it gets fuzzy and weird...

There appears to be at least 3 modules that could get my camera working.

qc-usb-messenger
linux-uvc module
spca5xx (note: I have only seen others here in the forum and other linux forums say it works)

1. - Installed qc-usb-messenger and added it as a module in /etc/rc.conf.  Rebooted, no dev/video0 was created, applications don't see the camera, however lsusb does.
2. Went back and saw that I could swap out qc-usb-messenger for uvcvideo since this is included in the kernel already.  Reboot, no dev/video0 created, applications don't see it, lsusb does
3. Says that the module for spca5xx is loaded in this kernel as well, so told rc.conf to load the uvcvideo with no change.  See above for that result.

So what am I missing?  /dev/video0 doesn't exist, so no way to chmod it.  dmesg isn't showing it, yet lsusb does lol

modprobe for uvcvideo

modprobe uvcvideo
FATAL: Module uvcvideo not found.

Ok, so here is what I got with lsusb

Moving on to dmesg|tail (as you can see the module isn't loading for the web cam at all)

I don't know who Kernel Debugger is, but Microsoft can keep him.

Re: Logitech Communicate MP & kernel26-ice X86_64 - A Battle of ages

lsusb lists the usb devices attached to the system, not the devices the system has a driver for.
if video0 is not created, i can suppose you're using the wrong module for your device. You should check if VendorID/DeviceID of the device match the VendorID/DeviceID of the module you're using.
