Why does the off-topic forum is only for registered users ?

I discovered that when sending a link to the "I'm a nerd..." thread to co-workers, and they couldn't see it.

I believe that decision was made given the number of high ranking google results regarding Arch and that sub-forum.

Allan-Volunteer on the (topic being discussed) mailn lists. You never get the people who matters attention on the forums.
