[solved]startx ok, xdm failed

hi,

I used to login to x-window/xfce4 via xdm,
but failed after whole system upgrade.

now I can get into xfce4 by executing startx from the console,
but every time I try to login via xdm, it turns back to the login dialog.
both root and my account failed on xdm.

I tryed googling, but nothing solved the problem.

the xdm log is:

xdm info (pid 1251): Starting
xdm info (pid 1251): Starting X server on :0

This is a pre-release version of the X server from The X.Org Foundation.
It is not supported in any way.

there are some errors in my Xorg.0.log, too,
but since I can startx successfully,
I think it's not relevant.

edit:
just remove both .ICEauthority and .Xauthority
(although the owner is just yourself)
