soo i cant get kernel26-headers.
pacman cant find it. i thought it was the mirror but after switching mirrors numerous times and then ranking the mirrors i still cannot get kernel26-headers. otherwise pacman works great i can get any other package.

Hi,
you could try pacman -Syy and try angain. If its not working, then you maybe have to change the server (after that, pacman -Syy again).

Could you post which mirror you're currently using?

/etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist. The top mirror is used with the rest as fall back. Using rankmirrors just puts the fastest at the top of the list (which for you is an out of date one). Adjusting /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist to comment out the first mirror will hopefully fix this.
It appears you were switching mirrors then running rankmirrors to put them back in the same order again...

ahh ok well ive adjusted the file many times before using rankmirrors but maybe they were all coincedentally out of date?

You're using none of those mirrors; they're all commented-out. The mirror you'll be using is the first non-blank line in that file which is not prefixed with '#'.

wel obviously im using a mirror. pacman gets every package i need with the exception of kernel26-headers
according to /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist every mirror is checked as off

well this was confusing but i took out the # prefix on one of the official mirrors and it worked.
im just lost to how i was downloading packages at all if they were all prefixed with #
