New CRUX based linux

I've made a new CRUX based disro, you can check it out here:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/crosslinux/

CROSS is a heavily trimmed down, Intel® Core™ x86_64 optimized Linux distribution, originally based on CRUX, and using it's ports system.

If you like it or not feel free to write me about it. Enjoy smile

I will contribute greatly to your effort by saying it should say "its", not "it's".

Re: New CRUX based linux

So basically it's Crux with files compiled with CFLAGS for the Core processors?

I haven't lost my mind; I have a tape back-up somewhere.

Re: New CRUX based linux

Are there any major differences between this distro and crux?
Not that I know crux so well either...

Edit: Zeist got the question right, ignore me tongue

Re: New CRUX based linux

What I've seen, there are packages for kernel and kernel headers.
And CROSS comes with cdrtools instead of cdrkit - which is not the worst.
My crux is already compiled with march = core2, that does not justify a new distro.

But I'll give it a try *download it*

Re: New CRUX based linux

Why do we need another distro? We already have the best one, right? wink

Re: New CRUX based linux

Not only for Core processors. There's also rewritten installer and i think it resembles more Arch in some ways. I know it's not ideal for everyone, but i hope it is for some. Everything that seems are absent on ISO could easily be installed through ports after installation, autoconf for example, but i just didn't need 'em while i did my compilations. Distro is fully self contained & can be rebuild having only packages it hosts. Everyting else could be installed additionally. Just try it & you'll understand what it is about. There's a small handbook in ISO, which could be found in /cdrom/CROSS after CD booting.
