Switching keyboard layouts

I'm trying to switch from GNOME to Awesome, and I can't find an easy way to switch keyboard layouts. It would be nice if I can cycle through layouts with some key (e.g., Caps Lock).
Any suggestions?

Re: Switching keyboard layouts

i use this to switch between qwertz and neo:

setxkbmap -layout de,de -variant neo, basic -option -option grp:sclk_toggle -option grp_led:scroll

you can use the 'scroll' key (pos1) to change between those two layouts. I got this tip from neo-layout.org

Re: Switching keyboard layouts

The deficiency (at least for me) of this method is that it can't switch layout in per-window basis. I've tried to use xxkb for this, but with no luck - for some strange reason it doesn't work correctly in awesome.
Since now I'm using awesome in conjuction with KDE, kxkb manages layout switching for me.

Sorry for little offtopic...
