Two interfaces; Dynamic names [Solved]

Hello Archers, I've got a computer with two network interfaces and a problem keeping them in line. I'm aware that interfaces are named as they come online, but for some reason this changes on occasion on this computer.

After some reading, I learned that one can use ifrename on boot to take care of this, so I setup a iftab to name the interfaces according to their MAC addresses as per the man pages. Once I have everything setup, I try to run the command, but am told that the interface is in use and cannot be modified. So, I simply assumed that I had to bring the offending interface down using "ifconfig eth0 down" and then use the command again, but again I get the error. I ran "ifconfig" and saw that the interface was still active. I'm assuming that I'm not allowed to bring down the interface because I'm using Wicd on the computer for network configuration. I was wondering, is there a way that I can implement this or another solution and keep Wicd?

I apologize for missing that in the wiki, and thanks for pointing it out. Goes to show how great the Arch Wiki really is.
