Reinstall using packages in /var/

If I was to reinstall Arch and, I already have all the packages stored on a separate partition (/var/), how would I go about installing these packages during the installation so fresh ones aren't downloaded. (to speed up the install)

Do I just mount the partition (sda6) to /mnt/var?

I'm just interested to know.

you could do that, provided you dont format or overwrite /var during installation.
or you could always put them on an external.
