KDE sometimes fails to Shutdown/Reboot

Hi, I use the latest KDE from Arch and I have this problem :

When I try to reboot or shutdown the system happens sometimes that instead of rebooting/shutting down I'm brought back to the login screen (KDM). Rebooting/Shutting down from KDM always works.
The problem appears 50% of the times I try to shutdown/reboot

I have an ATI 5800 card with the latest Catalyst drivers installed on a core i7 system

What can be the problem?

Re: KDE sometimes fails to Shutdown/Reboot

There was a problem about 4 month ago that showed the same symptoms. There the cause of the behaviour was a xorg-server crashed, leading to the chain of events

try to shutdown -> xorg-sever crash -> kdm crash -> kdm restart.

Howver, the probem there was a bug in the intel video driver that has since been fixed, and you're using ATI. Still, it might be worth while checking the xorg log file for signs of a crash.

Good ideas do not need lots of lies told about them in order to gain public acceptance.
