Deleting svn revision from mplayer source tarball. Why?

Is there any specific reason why you delete the svn revision from the mplayer source tarball?

As a result, smplayer complains that it can not detect mplayer's version, and it is very annoying.

Really, why are you doing that?

I believe the situation has been changed with the latest mplayer 30325-1.
