Hi,
I've got an HDMI output on my laptop, and a extra full HD monitor.
Ideally I'd like to be able to watch easily videos on my monitor, plugged in on my laptop. It has an nvidia ion video card.
So I tried with nvidia-settings with twinview. The problem is I get tearing on this extra screen. I read this is because of twinview, and the refreshing rate, the second monitor not the main monitor etc.
I have to say that I don't have tearing on an normal case (without dual screen).
So now I wonder if this is possible to not have a dual screen, but a "mono screen" only on my extra monitor (and the internal laptop monitor shutdown maybe). This would (I hope) prevent the tearing problem.
But how to ??

I use a setup like that at home. First you need to enable the TFT as twinview and then disalb ethe laptop screen. You will then use only the TFT screen.

I use two separate screens (no twinview) with nvidia.
I get two independent desktops and I can't drag and drop between them but I don't get any tearing.
