Hi, all. I have just noticed that Heirloom troff got active recently once again, so I became enthusiastic about it once again. I mean, it's much more lightweight than LaTeX, and for God knows what reason just seems to be the right thing to me. I tried learning groff, but couldn't get Unicode output and couldn't find any reports on how to get it done. This is why Heirloom is a nice alternative (it supports UTF out of the box). The syntax doesn't really look hard to me (seems to be like VI in terms of learning curve - you learn new things as you have to use them, but you can't just read one book to learn them all unless you are willing to learn the reference guide by heart). However, I always felt that there is no proper 101 guide (I mean, a quick introduction for total beginners) - at least I couldn't find one. And that has been stopping me from using Troff. So, this is why I am asking - are there any Troff users here? How did you learn it? I don't mean people who use troff just to write man pages (there are some guides for that), I mean those who use the mm, ms, me macros.
