[solved] tty1 login prompt shown instead of shutdown messages

When I shut down my computer, instead of seeing the the messages showing that services are being stopped, I see a login prompt on tty1 for several seconds, and then the computer powers down. How can I make it so I see these messages? I am using GDM as a login manager if that matters, and it is last in my DAEMONS array in /etc/rc.conf as recommended by the wiki.

Re: [solved] tty1 login prompt shown instead of shutdown messages

Yep! I did a little more fiddling and found that the messages were going to tty7 instead of tty1. I didn't know that before, and so I didn't include "tty7" in my search before, and ended up missing that thread. Starting gdm via inittab did the trick, though I still end up seeing the login prompt on that tty, even after the shutdown messages start appearing. Oh well.

I see the login prompt as well once shutdown is initiated. It's never bothered me particularly... Mark this solved?

Yep, I think we can consider this solved.
