computer monitoring program embedded in desktop?

What application is this in the top left hand corner, and how would i go about getting it installed like that on my system?

*edit* and the program at the top right of the corner..

or something similar to these, it doesnt have to be the same exact one.

Looks like a program for showing system information. Try a search on gkrellm. On Gnome you would use gdesklets, KDE would use something like superkaramba. Other type of program would be conky.
