Enlarge a LARCH partition?

Hi,

I am using a USB-larch for a University project - works perfect.

But, I've installed the system on a 2GB USB, and since then made several updates to the system.

Now I want to copy the system to a 8GB USB disk - with no luck:

I simply "dd if=/dev/sdb of=/dev/sdc", and enlarged the fat32 partition from 2GB to 8GB.

But when I try to boot the new USB disk, I get "Boot error".

Can anyone help?

Thanks a lot
fiod

Re: Enlarge a LARCH partition?

Heh, I had the same problem....but I just started keeping a text file with any changes I made to my larch install so I can go back and change the addedpacks and rootoverlay, and backup my .config/larch directory so it's easy to recreate my larch install if necessary. That might be your easiest option ....sorry if that doesn't directly answer your question smile

P.S. You could try reinstalling grub on the new drive -- also check your fstab and menu.lst entries: depending of if you used UUID or /dev/sdx to reference the flash drive, they might have changed.
