Keyboard Weirdness

I bought a Kinesis Freestyle keyboard ( http://www.kinesis-ergo.com/freestyle.htm ) and overall I am happy with it BUT it has one weird issue. If I hold the shift key down, the space bar doesn't work. And with caps lock down, the space bar doesn't work and the number keys produce the symbols on top of them, as opposed to the numbers.

The odd thing is that if I plug the keyboard into a Windows machine, type a few characters (and verify that the issue doesn't exist there) and then plug it back (USB) into my Arch machine running Xfce, then it's fine! Both problems are gone.

So in reality this is really an issue with the keyboard I think, but their support team is thus far pretty unresponsive and I don't know how much they know about Linux.

So I thought to post here to see if perhaps someone ever heard of a problem like this; perhaps there's a way to adjust my drivers or X configuration for this.
