Just wanted to say thanks to all those who have been contributing and maintaining so many new packages recently. I won't use 90% of them, but it's great for Arch to be able to offer so many new packages and...the amount of new ones recently has been unbelievable.
Great job!

to join the mood of thanking ... thanx to all maintainers ... this is the best OS-distro i know (and i tried quite all available, also FreeBSD and the not-linux ones) --- if we (archlinux) can beat SuSE in package-management, gentoo in flexibility, redhat in popularity, then we won the game :-) ... i think we are on the best way to do that
-> is there a statistic, how many packages are in archlinux? how many are up-to-date(the latest devel or stable)? how many work 100%
thanx again, great job, continue enhancing great things

I have to chime in here too...
The package maintainers rock, and I'm glad Archers notice. They're the reason we have new packages in our pacman -Syu every day.
Thanks a lot, guys and girls. We wouldn't be here without you.

Not sure if I want this though
but then again: hooray to the contributers, devvers, maintainers and users
This fine community isn't sh*t without users:)

AL definitely rocks .. and I'm a long-time distro slut who started on Mandrake 7.0 aeons ago. I've been using AL for a month or so and it's rapidly displacing the other linuxes on our machines at home and at work.
Not to hack on them, but I don't miss RedHat's GUI config tools, autodetect stuff, slow load time, install-everything-plus-kitchen-sink philosophy, or the idea of *manually* resolving dependencies. Most linuxes (RH included) seem to be designed for people fleeing MS Windows .. GUI configuration tools, HW autodetect, a base platform system that stays mostly the same until replaced with something newer.
AL seems to be designed for people who like Linux. Period.
Keep up the good work please!

PS And big thanks to whoever ported DVDrip

Hail to Package Maintainers! Great job everybody. Keep up the good work. I certainly appreciate all your hard work and effort put into AL. Response from maintainers and users in the AL forums is phenomenoal. Kudos to all.
