Autowifi connects me to a wireless network no problem, but it seems that it's not running dhcpcd after it connects. So I have to manually run dhcpcd every time I want to connect to a network. This ends up making autowifi not very.. auto.

I've never used Autowifi, but when people complain of their wifi managers not working, I usually just recommend Wicd...

I used wicd for about 2 weeks and didn't like it. The whole daemon feels so sluggish, it feels like it takes a lifetime to connect to a network. Autowifi worked beautifully until I must have messed something up by accident. I like autowifi so much because I'm automatically connected to the closest open network as soon as my computer is powered up. That's something that wicd doesn't offer..

Okay, problem solved.
I had the network daemon disabled.

Have the same problem. I have the network daemon running, and have to manually run dhcpcd wla0 when booted.

you don't need the network daemon you need dhclient and have to correct the path to dhclient in /usr/share/autowifi/action then everything works

Thanks, that did the trick.
