I started Linux on Debian and now use Arch. I do find the package database for Apt-Get to be much larger and better but to be fair Debian is much more mature and has many more developers on it's side. The main thing about Debian is that it installs stuff I don't want or need. I don't want Exim, I don't want Cups, I don't want all this other stuff. Just give me the last amount of packages and let me install what I need. That is why I moved to Arch. My last Debian 5 server migrated over to Arch 3 months ago and I have had no issues at all.

I like Debian. It's my #2 but for now...I don't see myself using anything but Arch.

I mentioned earlier in this thread how to solve that problem. It is a stupid default but you are not bound by it.

Used to run Whiite (Debian) on my Wii, but got sick of it and installed Archii. To me, Arch is superior in basically.. every way.
