Powernow

http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Powernow

if I put in the modules section

powernow-k8

it will not work

using

powernow_k8

does the trick

I also found that the governor runs from the daemon configuration, and will not work if loaded from the modules line.  The wiki details the daemon config perfectly.  And thanks for the tip on setting the threshold.  I had to use "sleep" as well.

Re: Powernow

That's an odd one. Modules are loaded by modprobe, and man modprobe says:

note that for convenience, there is no difference between _ and - in module names.

You can verify this by manually modprobing both versions of the name.

Re: Powernow

yes, it is odd.  You can load it with modprobe as powernow-k8, but it will not work in rc.conf.

Re: Powernow

Actually should have checked this first... but it works for me, with powernow-k8 in rc.conf MODULES array. :?

When you use powernow-k8 at boot time, what does dmesg say?

Re: Powernow

Okay, there must be something I didn't understand at first.  I get it now, though.  There doesn't seem to be any type of problem.  All it needs is powernow-k8 on the modules and the daemon configured and running.
