lm-sensors problem with my new mainboard

Hi, this is my first post in this forum. smile Two weeks ago, I bought a new MSI P55-CD53 mainboard. Yesterday I discerned, lm-sensors isn't working. I tried reinstall lm-sensors and reconfigure. But still lm-sensors isn't working. How can I solve this problem?

Re: lm-sensors problem with my new mainboard

Same issue here, but my board is the MSI P55-GD65.
I believe lm-sensors tells you exactly what the problem is after running sensors-detect. Namely, no support for the Fintek F71889FG SuperI/O chip that provides to monitoring information. Unless your board uses a different SuperI/O chip, I have not looked that up.

Then check the lm-sensors supported devices list, you will see that this chip will be supported in kernel 2.6.33, which is the upcoming version. 2.6.33 is now at it's rc5 release.
Either try to run the kernel and see how it works for you, or wait for it to replace the current stable.

Also, the 'coretemp' module that can read out the temperature of the cores of my Core i7 860, does not work for me. YMMV.
It seems to be unable to access MSR 0xEE over here. Wonder if you also run into that issue, lemme know.

Re: lm-sensors problem with my new mainboard

Thanks for your answer. Then we are waiting for Kernel 2.6.33
