Re: Grub 2 gone wrong

How did you update to grub2?
Use the Live CD to edit and add Arch entry in /boot/grub/grub.cfg

Re: Grub 2 gone wrong

The grub.cfg is slightly different from menu.lst

This might help to iron out some bumps:
http://grub.enbug.org/Manual

To do this you will probably need another live-CD though smile

Re: Grub 2 gone wrong

Ok after reading quater of that, grub 2 is definitely not worth it. I want to go back to grub if thats even possible.

EDIT: im using the guide from http://grub.enbug.org/Grub2LiveCdInstallGuide to get it runnign first, but everytime i try to "sudo chroot /mnt" i keep getting "chroot: cannot run command `/bin/bash': Exec format error". Is it because my box is 64-bit?

Re: Grub 2 gone wrong

Also you should (I guess you didn't) read wiki.
After reading it, it made me decide not to use Grub2 until it becomes part of Arch (and even then I'll use it only if I'll have no choice).
Oh yeah hoe to solve this:
Boot ArchLiveCD and chroot to your install and repair damage using wiki on links and pacman.
use this to help you chroot your system: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ker … llation_CD

Re: Grub 2 gone wrong

I'm using grub2 here just fine. Actually I'm using grub2-graphical by Frozenfox.

i just did pacman -S grub2

That wouldn't do it! You need to:

# grub-install /dev/sda

su -
parted /dev/sda
toggle 1 boot
