Re: [CLOSED - SEE MONTHLY STICKIES] Arch Desktop Screenshots

My desktop

kde 3.4
modified the sidebar on the kicker to be a bit more "archy"
if anyone wants to do the same just replace
/opt/kde/share/apps/kicker/pics/kside.png and kside_tile.png with these two
kside_tile.png
kside.png
or any other image you prefer...
(kside.png is a greyscaled and resized version of this image found on the arch webpage)

hey fetreney2000, nice background wink I stumbled across it at
http://oceanic.wsisiz.edu.pl/%7Eslabosz … =tapetycz1.. there is a couple of other nice wallpapers there as well..

hmmm, dumb question from me then   :?:  :?:  :arrow:  wink  How did you get the icons to the bottom and the tray to the top? I'll look again into the settings of the taskbar but I don't think I ever saw an option for that

Thanks for the link, I got my wallpaper from deviantart.com smile. It seem that both of us use a simple and clean desktop. Maybe its because of the wallpaper?  tongue
Edit : May I ask you where did you get your grayscale icon set? It looks nice with that wallpaper.

Re: [CLOSED - SEE MONTHLY STICKIES] Arch Desktop Screenshots

@Mith
its not a setting. I have added a second panel that only holds the icons.
you can add an extra panel in the slightly illogical way of right clicking on your existing panel, "add to panel" -> panel -> panel.

@fetreney2000
its not a greyscale icon set. In kde 3.4 you can add greyscale and transparency (and much more) as effects to the iconset of your choice. its under the advanced tab in icons in the controlcenter -> set effect

Im a deviant art fan myself.. the amount of great wallpapers there is amazing

Nice choice of wm big_smile . I'm using ion3 as well

ion32uh.th.jpg

Never realized how good this wm was until I used wmi. It's so much more configurable, and it's a lot faster for me, too. Plus, I've got it configured to act similar to wmi, so I feel at home big_smile

Re: [CLOSED - SEE MONTHLY STICKIES] Arch Desktop Screenshots

I've been using KDE for some time now, and I'm really satisfied with it smile
I haven't even started customizing it too much - and that's a good sign big_smile

Too bad amaroK can't handle 10k songs over nfs, and too bad I haven't found any proper audioscrobbler plugin for MPD - so until I find a solution for any of these issues, I'm stuck with beep-media-player.
