It seems sometimes after I use kaffeine to watch movies or streams, my screensaver will not come on(kde's). After I restart the graphics by exiting and reentering kde, the problem goes away. Anyone had a similar problem?
I used hwd -s then using xorg textmode, edited ATI|RV350 AP [Radeon 9600] to ati radeon (generic) because it was too choppy.

It is a normal behavior.
Kaffeine disables the screensaver because you dont want it to just pop in the middle of the screen when you watch a movie.
However, it should re-enable it by the same way.
I suggest you post a bug report on www.kde.org.

yes I noticed this in suse. I had to close out of kaffeine to get it to work again, but it doesn't happen on arch. I was using the kernel's ati driver though in suse; maybe i could try switching back to it. But why was i getting choppy video?
