After installing lm_sensors, I ran sensors-detect and got this:
Driver `to-be-written':
* Chip `AMD K10 thermal sensors' (confidence: 9)
* ISA bus, address 0x600
Chip `Fintek F71889FG Super IO Sensors' (confidence: 9)
So, I went to the site and downloaded both modules and built them, then added them to /etc/rc.conf and restarted.
I ended up with this error on both builds:
$ sudo make install
cp k10temp.ko /lib/modules/2.6.32-ARCH/kernel/drivers/hwmon
depmod -a -F /lib/modules/2.6.32-ARCH/build/System.map 2.6.32-ARCH
FATAL: Could not open '/lib/modules/2.6.32-ARCH/build/System.map': No such file or directory
make: *** [modules_install] Error 1$ sudo make install
cp f71882fg.ko /lib/modules/2.6.32-ARCH/kernel/drivers/hwmon
depmod -a -F /lib/modules/2.6.32-ARCH/build/System.map 2.6.32-ARCH
FATAL: Could not open '/lib/modules/2.6.32-ARCH/build/System.map': No such file or directory
make: *** [modules_install] Error 1
And, on modprobe, I get:
$ sudo modprobe k10temp
$ sudo modprobe f71882fg
FATAL: Error inserting f71882fg (/lib/modules/2.6.32-ARCH/kernel/drivers/hwmon/f71882fg.ko): Device or resource busy
When I run sensors, the k10temp module works fine, but I seem to be getting a bit less fortunate on the other one. Is there a way to make the other module load?

Apparently, I didn't read the link.
I'll look into this and see if it works.

...did you read anything in that post? I've done all that, but the modules are not loading. lm_sensors isn't my problem; it's the modules that I need for it.
Yeah, I read your post... did you read mine? What you're experiencing sounds like it could be solved by reading that section of the wiki article. Post your /boot/grub/menu.lst

I'm sorry; I didn't even notice the link on that page.
It's fixed, now. Thanks! I'll try and check the wiki from now on before posting something. >_>

Glad you got it working. The Arch community is a great group of folks who are quite tolerant of new comers to the distro and to Linux in general. There is no need for that attitude though. I clearly did read your post.
