[SOLVED] connecting wirelessly to iMac problem

installed a fresh arch on my laptop and i'm trying to connect wirelessly to iMac internent sharing
so i can continue the installation however, when i

dhcpcd eth1

it says:

dhcpcd: eth1 waiting for carrier
dhcpcd: timed out

and i'm unable to connect
i've looked around but could not find any answer to this problem

i came to conclude, the problem might be because the iMac bridge the connection however not sure
how to fix this or what shall i do next now

i tried to use static IP but didn't know how to set it up or from where to get the data i need

thank you

Re: [SOLVED] connecting wirelessly to iMac problem

Are you sure the interface is good?
Show your:

ifconfig -a

, please.

If right your interface, try install netcfg, or dhclient, and try again.

Btw, you can see this threads: http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=59340

Good luck!

Re: [SOLVED] connecting wirelessly to iMac problem

thanks for the replay after testing for hours
it appeared when i use encrypted (web - 40 bit) code for the network dhcpcd dosn't work
while if it is unencrypted i'm able to connect easily
therefore the problem is solved for now!

thanks
