cpufreq help

Hi

I set up cpufreq on my laptop according to the wiki.
I want "ondemand" when I'm on battery and "performance" when on A/C.
I modified the handler.sh like in the wiki and it works when I'm on battery and plug in my AC cable.

However, it does not work when I already boot up on A/C, it stays at "ondemand" (which is my default in the cpufreq daemon config)
It obviously needs an acpi event to change mode and there is none when I boot up with the cable plugged.

How can I set the battery/power mode without plugging/unplugging or setting in manually?

Another thing, I get errors with the "echo 50 > ..." command in rc.local, is there another way to do it, because it sounds like a good idea.
edit: fixed this by moving the cpufreq daemon to a prior position in rc.conf

thanks for help
