I recently switched from Windows to Linux. Even more recently I switched from Ubuntu to Arch, I will never look back. Just reading the Wiki and installing Arch is an enlightening experience.
I'll say it like this:
Windows is like watch a beautiful beach on a 12" TV with a pair of rabbit ears.
Ubuntu is like putting on every article of cloths in your closet and going to a beautiful beach.
Archlinux is like standing on a beautiful beach wearing nothing but a Speedo.
The choice is simple..

Ye-no... gonna have to disagree with the speedo...

I feel much more comfortable around my Arch than being on a beach in a speedo

Arch provides the user freedom and simplicity by design.
and Arch is sleek, streamlined, and increases user productivity.

Hofstadter's Law:
It always takes longer than you expect, even when you take into account Hofstadter's Law.

Thank you! Good to be here.
I apologize to everyone... in my excitement at the true art of simplicity which Arch has so perfectly captured, I probably invoked the image of an overly hair endowed, pot bellied gentleman with just a glimpse of Speedo poking out from shiny crevasse. Not cool on my part!
My true intention is to inspire any browsing newbies, as I was one just a week ago, into giving Arch a try. It isn't nearly as difficult as it looks from first glance.
Since Archlinux is the exact opposite of bloat, I get the feeling of being truly free to experience the essence if Linux. Sort of like stripping down and letting one's nethers feel a cool breeze, but that is just me, I'm a tad off.

It is not difficult, but making your own config files and the russian roulette that pacman is sometimes requires bravery, much like the speedo, yeah

i dont think i could ever use anything other than arch anymore. the ease of use and control it provides have spoiled me.

"I know what you're thinking, 'cause right now I'm thinking the same thing. Actually, I've been thinking it ever since I got here:
Why oh why didn't I take the BLUE pill?"

Well your analogy made me laugh... speedos + fat old hairy men ftw!
The software required Windows XP or better, so I installed archlinux.
