XFree errors as a user

Hi
im having problems getting Xfree to work as a user, it works as root but as you know you its not a good idea running X as root so any ideas? this is the log i get back when using as a user

You can either use a display manager like xdm, gdm, or kdm, or you can modify your permissions for X and that should get it working.  I have a mini tutorial I threw together so I can check back everytime I reinstall Linux or for friends.

I got curious wink. The process X on my system is owned by root even when it is started by a user. Is this also a bad thing?
