pacman downloads failing at 90%

Regardless what packages I try to install, anything that is ~2Mb or larger is failing at 90%!

I'm new to arch, but not linux.  I'm running arch on vmware, if it makes any difference.  I've successfully installed (and regularly use) many other distros on here with no issue.

Any ideas as to why packages are failing at 90%?

Re: pacman downloads failing at 90%

Just some things to try:

0. check diskspace on device (df, etc)
1. Try to set up different mirrors (see beginner's guide and pacman wiki)
2. If the mirror is ftp, try http to perhaps get around possible firewall/network issue for now.

Re: pacman downloads failing at 90%

i've already tried those.  I've tried every mirror available on the mirrorlist!  I'm using only http mirrors too... vm bridged to host, through a small router, into a larger router, then untangle as a gateway, and finally out the WAN.

There's more than 9 gigs free on both / and home

I'm really stumped on this one.

Hmm.  I did a quick forum search and found this thread (linked to a specific post to perhaps try in regards to using wget) http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php? … 02#p221502 Sounds like a rather complex networkign setup you have which may need some hacking too.  Double NAT?

Re: pacman downloads failing at 90%

thanks for the help.  switching to wget for package downloading made it work.
