No disrespect to Fluxbox, but this thread is looking dangerously like an archaeological site

Everyones moved on to tilers
Would still be nice to have a fluxbox thread where we can share our collection of configs and screenshots, for others who use fluxbox.

jason, I'm inside WindowMaker now (used it for years...). Fluxbox is not an old one, WM is. FFS, look at the name, we invented the damn word!
Thanks tjwoosta

Curious what does fluxbox offer over openbox, besides an integrated panel?
Offline
The allmighty slit, and that panel is rather awesome considering it has virtual workspace switching, window switching, window list, systray and a clock, all integrated, and themable.
And a config that's a lot easier to grasp

In solving a problem of this sort, the grand thing is to be able to reason backward. That is a very useful accomplishment, and a very easy one, but people do not practice it much. In the everyday affairs of life it is more useful to reason forward, and so the other comes to be neglected. There are fifty who can reason synthetically for one who can reason analytically. --Sherlock Holmes

Don't forget window tabbing.

At least I dont think openbox has this. I havent really used openbox much to be honest. Does openbox have an equivilant to the ~/.fluxbox/apps file or do you need devilspie for that?

Well, the slit isn't really any different than Openbox's dock is it?

totsim3: that is "conky". See the wiki on how to do a one-liner conky...
