Are your mirrors in sync? The latest version in the community repo is -11.

if -8 had a force option, that is the right behavior. but as lucke said, you hit in a mirror that is badly out of sync. get rid of it.

Yep the mirror hasn't synced for more than 5 days, thanks for the pointer.
I still don't get why pacman tries to update xbmc even though the the installed version number is higher.
