Hello. I have Batman the dark knight.mkv on harddisk. When I play it with MPlayer it is fine but when playing it with mythvideo it stutters. Both sound and video. They are in sync. I have vdpau enabled in both mplayer and mythtv. I couldn't find that option in mythvideo PKGBUILD. The silly thing is that I had it working in my previous install but cant remember my old setup. I have mplayer and myth from extra built with abs. This is part of my output from terminal:

The internal player of MythTV uses FFmpeg. To use mplayer in MythVideo, set up mplayer as player in the settings dialog for MythVideo.
Did you have libvdpau installed while compiling MythTV?

Yes I had. How do I set mplayer as default player. I did try it in the video settings->playback. In the default settings there are "Internal" set as player. I have both vdpau and ffmpeg installed. I have backend running on a server and frontend on a client. All plugins are installed on the frontend and my NAS with video content is also mounted on frontend.

You can enter "mplayer" as player video settings->playback. Make sure, there is no override in video settings->file type for .mkv.
Did you set up vdpau in settings? Utilities -> Setup -> TV Settings -> Playback -> Playback Profiles (3/9)

I did do a completly new setup for my mediacenter. Another motherboard with a stronger processor and everything is very smooth now. No playback problems. I couldn't find any solution in the settings so I think it was a messed up install that caused my problem. Thanks a lot for your kind help.:)
