Hello guys,
I'm interested in two more features that dwm doesn't support by default. Perhaps one of you knows how to include that functionality.
1) A possibility to create new tags while dwm is running.
2) A master/slave frame so that I can put windows that are in the same tag in the back/front. As I remember correctly Musca has such a feature.
Thank you.

1) DWM is static. You'll need to edit config.h, compile and restart dwm. If you have dwm running in a while loop via xinitrc this whole process could be scripted. The only downside to restarting dwm is any windows not matching a tag will be placed in tag 1.
2) Change your layout to 'monocle' and use alt-j/k to cycle.

Hello steve,
1) Perhaps there is already a script or a patch to do that?
2) That's not exactly what I meant because monocycle just displays only one window. What I was looking for, is a possibility to have e.g. four windows on frame 1 and another two windows on frame 2 and then switch between that two frames such as in monocycling mode.

Isn't that what the tags are for? You pull the tag(s) you need into focus (Mod+C+[1,2..]) and then remove them when you are done. Or have I misunderstood you?

That's what i3 has implemented with its containers: A container occupies a frame and contains windows. You can have multiple windows per container, move the container as a whole to a new place in the frame layout, or move single windows out of the container into another container.
