HAL /etc/hal/fdi/policy/something file

Hello, I removed the file /etc/hal/fdi/policy/something.fdi
and then did pacman -S hal
and I hoped that this file will be recreated. But was not.
Do you know, how to create a new one? Something like Xorg -configure, but for hal...
Thanks

Re: HAL /etc/hal/fdi/policy/something file

/etc/hal/fdi/policy/ is empty by default. And I'm 99% sure that there wouldn't be a fdi file named "something". Maybe if you let everyone know what your hal rules use to do, someone will point you in the right direction.

Re: HAL /etc/hal/fdi/policy/something file

You'll find the default HAL policy files in /usr/share/hal/fdi/policy/. If you need to change a behavior or setting, copy the appropriate fdi file from /usr/share/.../ to /etc/hal/fdi/policy/ and edit it to your liking.
