Has anyone modified the FluxBB display mode/format?

I'm trying to find a way to get rid of the wasted space down the left hand side of posts made in this FluxBB driven forum, for reasons posted here:

As can be seen in the first link, it was suggested that I try this forum, for obvious reasons.

So, anyone been there & done it, or interested in creating an option .css or even a plugin (I'm still not sure if one exists, but I should know within 24 hours I think) that those of us with large 20" + screens (& others) can choose to use if it makes life easier one way or another?

I've received some help from tjwoosta, & others & have been able to get a nearly there solution, which is great.
