Hello!
Just installed Arch64 on my computer, with the awesome wm. It's been a great learning experience(I've only used Ubuntu before, so it's not like I can say I've got much experience working with Linux)
I've been trying to install Renoise, and I ran into a problem that I can't seem to solve.
When running the installer I get this output, which looks fine to me:
Fixing file permissions...
Installing shared resources...
Installing the executable...
Linking the executable...
Installing the man file...
Registering MIME types...
Installing icons...
Installing desktop-menu shortcuts...
Warning: failed to install desktop-menu shortcuts for Renoise (not critical).
Your desktop environment might not support the installation of app shortcuts...\n
Checking audio configuration...
PAM seems to be installed and configured for audio applications.
If you nevertheless have problems with ALSA or Jack (such as crackles or too high latencies)
take a look at 'http://tutorials.renoise.com/Renoise/SettingUpLinux/#PAM' for help please...
Installation of Renoise 2.5.0 SUCCEEDED.
However when I try to run the software I get:
bash: renoise: command not found
"ldd renoise" in the installation directory gives me:
not a dynamic executable
I read somewhere that I had to get ia32-libs for Renoise to work in a 64-bit environement, but I can't locate the package and besides it seems to be for AMD64. What should I do? I've been working on this for hours.
Thanks!

If renoise is a 32-bit-only app, you can either install it in a 32-bit chroot or install the required lib32-* packages. See the wiki for more details.

I forgot to mention that I installed every lib32-* package, but it didn't change the situation.
I'm going to try the other solution though, thanks for the help, I'll try to keep this topic updated.

pacman -Ql renoise | grep /bin
If you didn't use makepkg/pacman (shame on you), then updatedb && locate renoise | grep /bin

Forgive my ignorance, but I'm not sure how this will help?
By the way, I don't have access to the source code. Or at least I don't know how I could have access to it.
In any case, I didn't read about makepkg and pkgbuild yet, so I am going to do that now.

I wrote it before your edit of the first post. Could just as well have been that you were trying to execute "renoise", but it wasn't anywhere in your PATH
Edit: zomg, i got nearly 3h lag on that post. Damn I hate my isp >_>

I wanted to try the last night after watching the video on their website.
It installs fine from AUR but I couldn't get it to find the libjack* libs.

Would it be possible to use JACK with a 64-bit audio application AND with renoise in a 32-bit chroot, at the same time?

it is possible to use 64-bit-jack with 32-bit renoise (2.5.0 beta9) ... don't know if running it in a chroot is very different from that...
I had to install these lib32s:
lib32-libstdc++5 lib32-alsa-lib lib32-libx11 lib32-jack-audio-connection-kit (last one from aur - use yaourt: it has a lot of dependencies...)
...and it just works :-)
