[SOLVED]OB Floating/Tyling

Is it possible to have workspace 1 floating and workspace 2 tyling in Openbox?

You mean tiling, and sort of. You would have to run some external window tiler. There is one in community contrib.

My bad, tiling yes! I tried pytyle a while ago, but how do I keep workspace 1 floating?

Ah. You should set the "global_tiling" option to "False," and configure the "tiling per workspace" section of the configuration file. (The directions are at the link, and there is an example commented out in the configuration file itself.)

There is also the Poor man's Tiling Window manager if you want another look at configuring for tiling.
