"enter" lets the PC hang up...

Hi folks,

so, I am new to this forum and arch, too, and I got no idea neither where this problem comes from, nor how to track the cause for this.
The only thing I can say for sure is that this happens as I got a textfield - such as the one for the password within the login screen, pidgin, adressfield of any browser - and want to "send" the input.
I am unable to reset X (btw. gnome is my wdm on an eeePC 1000HE), I'm unable to get into console (by pressing ctrl+alt+FX) and also the touchpad doesn't work anymore - well I can't do anything.

The last thing I installed before this happend the first time was "laptop-mode-tools". But even after removing this, my problem stays.

Does anyone know where to begin to track the event that causes this behaviour?

[EDIT]
Seems not...

Maybe anyone who knows where I could get support for my problem?

thx
[/EDIT]

Re: "enter" lets the PC hang up...

the whole OS was running fine...
within rc.conf - modules there has been
acpi, network, sysnmbus (not sure if spelled correctly), hal fam wicd gdm... nearly everything I needed.
I wasn't able to find out the mistake so I decided to reinstall all (it was a fresh install indeed, but I had nearly everything set up correctly and then this err.....)
themore do I need a correct running system tomorrow, so I decided to reinstall....

thx although
