I've looked about this forum with a 34 point font & found that there is rarely a problem with the length of a location.  Dusty has a tough location that uses all of the 30 characters available:

Shaunavon/Saskatchewan /Canada

So /Canada goes to a 2nd line but the first line looses the last 4 characters.

If it had a space separating the first 2 words then it goes to 3 lines & everything is fine.

Anyway, I expect that due to problems like this, that it is probably not worth pursuing a global narrowing of the left hand column for the Arch forum.  It will just make waves & probably not be accepted & therefore be a waste of everyone's time.

I'm glad I started this thread, it has solved the wasted column width problem for me to a satisfactory degree, & I happened to find the Dark Grey style to run in Stylish on the Arch forum (plus a few other dark styles for other forums & sites) as a bonus for my eyes.

So it's all good, thanks again to those that have helped me with this.
