You're reformatting because of package dependency issues? That might just be a little bit exaggerated.
Try pacman -Syy, then try again. If the problem persists, check that you have the latest versions of e2fsprogs and util-linux-ng installed.
Good ideas do not need lots of lies told about them in order to gain public acceptance.

Fixed it, for some reason, pacman didn't do a full update. Was wondering why I didn't see much being updated.
Syu did the trick.
