After I finally got everything updated.. after doing what the home page said first before installing...
all seemed fine.. but kmail, kopete, virtualbox (with the 2 vm's i had installed) froze the entire computer.., and sometimes the computer would just hard freeze when browsing the web, or when opening something...
so i went back to my trusty kubuntu backup..
my question is.. if i wait a few days.. until the main ftp mirrors (when doing an ftp install) sync up, fill up, etc..
if i were to re-install the entire system.. id have kde 4.4 from the get go, thus NO update problems.. then reinstall wine, virtual box, (they along with kopete, kmail should then work right? since i'm not updating anything, i'm cleanly installing a new kde 4.4 system), and those pesky freezes should just stop? right?
any advice for my course of action would be most appreciated.. I don't mind reinstalling.. in the many (i'm embarassed to say) times ive formated, re-installed arch, I've learned more in that amount of time, then i have learned in 5 years using various other distros..
thanks

Possible solutions:
1. Create a new user, see if problem exists.
2. mv ~/.kde ~/kde
3. Re-sync and update to make sure you haven't missed something
