Re: [CLOSED - SEE MONTHLY STICKIES] Arch Desktop Screenshots

two actually! - i may even have upgraded it to 0.18!

My torsmo-extra lacks some luster after the 0.18 release - i never even knew it had happened and it was months ago!

Why does every other XFCE desktop I see have a picture of some actress on it?

Re: [CLOSED - SEE MONTHLY STICKIES] Arch Desktop Screenshots

think of it as a bit of choas amidst a sea of order..

or, better yet, as a subordinately expressive element used in conjunction with the colors and wavy lines lines of the background, creating a pull on the eyes towards the center of the "canvas". A place where your eyes can "exercise" before returning to rest upon the dominant formal elements framing the movement region. the color archetypes red, representing the will to experience life, is balanced by the muted gays, representing loss and death, and subtle blue elements, representing wisdom and enlightenment.
Let the blue frog of enlightenment wash over you.

or..I was in the process of deleting the icon, and decided to take a screenshot, forgetting to remove it first..

as to your more direct question: ArgoUML is ok. I don't use it for all that it can do though. It is more specifically a uml to code app for java and c/c++ to some extent I believe..don't quote me on the c/c++ support because I don't use if for that you see. I have lately taken to just using dia as it doesn't try to pigeonhole me with backend code generation. UML to me is a representation of abstract concepts to help me code, and the constant reminder that I have to use this type of arrow here, and this type of line there...ends up makeing more work than benefit for what I use it for..
but, try it for yourself. I am colored by my own perceptions and biases..

DaDexter: I don't have any real issue with your wallpaper... It just crates a rather nasty image of geeks in general. Women usually don't like to be thought of that way.

Re: [CLOSED - SEE MONTHLY STICKIES] Arch Desktop Screenshots

Now, I would understand if it was porn or something, but it's not.

AFAIK, if I was a woman, I would be happy to see some guy not see me as a sex object, but looking at a picture fully dressed and saying "She's really good looking"

I don't see anything wrong here.

It goes to reflect the personalities of the user. Something can be said about it though. Don't expect a theory from me tongue

maybe he is a fan of hats...
whenever I used redhat, I had the urge to put a little stovepipe hat for the icon instead of a fedora.

Re: [CLOSED - SEE MONTHLY STICKIES] Arch Desktop Screenshots

Well, if the kde3 xp style is always one of the most popular downloads at kde-look, http://www.kde-look.org/index.php?xsortmode=down&page=0
I suppose it's fine to have a redhat  logo on your arch desktop too.  smile
