What happened to the boot screen?

TvK05.jpg

This started happening about a month ago. After UDev processing, the screen goes black, and the resolution gets bigger. After the init scripts start, the [DONE] becomes aligned to the right side.

What's going on?

Enable KMS. What graphics card do you have?

Personally, I'd rather be back in Hobbiton.

Re: What happened to the boot screen?

There are no Arch logos so I'm guessing KMS is already enabled.

Re: What happened to the boot screen?

Well, the information is all here but mixed up...   KMS is being enabled after the udev processing.  Hence the screen flicker and changing resolution.   You can look up in the wiki for what it is and how to enable it earlier during bootup.
