Netbook

I have a 4 gig netbook. What i am trying to do it:

Plug into my 32" TV and make it my primary moniter.
Install a file manager to browser files
Install VLC Player to play my video files.
Something to join the wireless Network

Thats about it really.

Is there any guides to do this. I would like the have a go on Arch
