[solved] Dbus 'process leek?'

I'm having a rather strange problem,  for some reason whenever I start/stop an application, or open/refresh a page in Firefox, as well as somewhat randomly in the background, a new instance of dbus-daemon is being created. This keeps on happening until there are several hundred or maby even thousand instances of dbus-daemon running using up the entire 3 gigs of ram and the entire swap space, at which point the OOM killer starts killing user space applications and the system grinds to a halt until `killall dbus-daemon' is executed, then the whole process starts over again, and after another 5 to 10 minutes, all the memory is used up again.

Any ideas what could be causing this behaviour?

Re: [solved] Dbus 'process leek?'

This is now getting ridiculous, after killing all instances of dbus-daemon, it has re consumed the entire available memory in under 20 seconds, effectively making the machine unusable.

Re: [solved] Dbus 'process leek?'

Deleating the .dbus folder seams to have fixed this problem, touch wood.
