Hello all. I've never requested an AUR package before because I've always been able to make them myself. In this case, I cannot. I am completely unfamiliar with java and java-based apps. I tried making the PKGBUILD both from beta release and svn (there is no stable version yet). Whenever I used the beta it would simply be the "JSkat.0.6.jar" file so I'd have to manually run "java -jar JSkat.0.6.jar" everytime to get it to run, and it was still ugly. Anyway, not sure if anyone can help me with this but here it goes:
Link to JSkat showcase homepage --> http://www.jskat.de/
Link to JSkat 0.6 SourceForge page --> http://sourceforge.net/projects/jskat/
Link to JSkat subversion repository --> https://jskat.svn.sourceforge.net/svnro … kat/trunk/
Quick description from homepage
JSkat is a free implementation of the German card game Skat in JavaTM. You can play it on nearly every platform that runs a modern Java Runtime Environment. Until now we only know that it runs on Windows and Linux with the JRE from Sun, but we like to hear from you, if it's playable on other platforms, too
If someone is able to get this to build I would greatly appreciate the PKGBUILD, preferably svn checkout but beta 0.6 is fine too. You don't have to maintain it if you don't want to, I'd be willing to try although you may have to explain how you built it and what I'd have to do to maintain it. Remember; I don't know anything about java or java-based apps.
I actually have a lot of pkgbuilds that aren't in the AUR that could be there but I'm afraid to maintain them as I don't know if I'd be able to constantly monitor their progress/compatibility.. but that's a different discussion.

I just put jskat-svn to the AUR. Not sure about the dependencies, though. I have many java packages installed.

Thank you very much for this! It seems to work fine and as far as dependencies go I really don't have many java packages installed at all (apache-ant, junit, openjdk6, ca-certificates-java). The only [small] problem I have is that I can't really click on the menu items, they disappear as soon as I let up on the mouse so I can't select anything within them. It could be JSkat's fault or my java version, I really don't know the cause but it's not a big deal because it seems most of what's in the menus are on the toolbar so I can click them there. Again, I really appreciate your help- it also helps me realize what's needed for java-based packages. ![]()
